Corona Foundation
Strategy 2030 of
The theory of change that shapes our 2030 vision proposes that if the
youth opportunity system is activated through shared agendas, capacity building, and the promotion of co-responsible leadership, it will co-create — together with youth — more collaborative, adaptive, and effective ways of working. This, in turn, will contribute to education, employment, freedom of choice and influence opportunities that are relevant, sufficient, equitable, and fully accessible to young people.
As a second‑tier foundation, we contribute to generating transformations and social impact through coordinated work, by managing, supporting, and strengthening initiatives that are part of the system that creates opportunities for young people in Colombia.
Through these initiatives, we address different challenges or conditions of social problems, and their work is complementary in terms of their roles and objectives.
Our Approach
Aware that we cannot achieve the transformations the country needs by working in isolation, the main role of Fundación Corona within this strategy, with a vision toward 2030, is to serve the youth opportunity system —of which we are already a part— through the following actions:
Understanding the context to act better
We listen, analyze data, and engage in conversations with young people and system actors to understand the challenges and opportunities that exist at different levels: from beliefs and practices to policies, relationships, capacities, and the realities of each territory.
Generating useful and shared
knowledge
We create and strengthen knowledge about educational, employment, free‑choice, and advocacy opportunities. We do this in partnership with different sectors, recognizing what already exists, disseminating it, and contributing to its development.
Facilitating dialogue and collaboration
We promote participatory spaces where different actors can engage in dialogue, co‑create, define shared agendas, pool resources, and carry out actions that generate sustainable change.
Making agendas visible and mobilizing collective action
We share what we learn to showcase possible pathways for transformation. Together with other actors, we seek to amplify the voices of young people and activate coordinated actions around common agendas.
Designing and strengthening existing solutions
We recognize that the system already holds extensive knowledge and capabilities. That’s why we work as a team to identify, improve, and scale tools and methodologies that have shown good results, and to facilitate their replication.
Supporting and strengthening
capacities
We recognize and value the complementary capacities of system actors and provide them with technical support so they can carry out their roles more effectively. We promote spaces for coordination, collaboration with young people, and the development of joint actions.
Advancing co‑responsible leadership
We foster skills, behaviors, and beliefs that enable leadership capable of adapting, responding to challenges, and generating relevant, sufficient, and equitable opportunities for young people.

Initiatives
Portfolio
We support and strengthen initiatives that help transform the opportunity system for young people.

At Fundación Corona, we work hand in hand with initiatives by bringing actors together, pooling capabilities, and building collective solutions that strengthen the system of opportunities for youth. We do this through a collaborative approach in which we provide technical guidance and strategic support to co-create solutions while complementing capacities.
System
Changes

We will only be able to achieve the goal of our 2030 strategy if, as a system, we align our capacities, strengthen coordination, and improve our performance. Therefore, it is essential that we commit to continuous learning and to developing better ways of working and practices that enhance our capacities through:
01
Working in more collaborative ways
This means bringing together the efforts of institutions, public and private actors, communities, and young people. Only then can we better understand the challenges and opportunities that exist in the territories and build solutions that respond to their contexts and particularities.
02
Co‑creating and involving young people more actively
This means opening the doors of organizations and including young people in decision‑making, planning, and representation spaces. By doing so, we are able to design, implement, and evaluate solutions in a more coordinated and contextualized way.
03
Adopting more adaptive practices
Social problems—such as the lack of opportunities for youth in Colombia—do not have a single cause. This is why we must learn continuously and address their root causes at different levels: policies, power dynamics, beliefs, narratives, and behaviors.
04
Adopting more effective practices
We need to act with a focus on concrete, measurable, and sustainable results. This means using available resources more efficiently and strengthening capacities and collaborative practices through implementation and financing mechanisms.
