A vision for

Colombia

shaped with youth

If you want to learn more about our 2030 Strategy

Types of opportunities

For young people to be able to build and lead their life projects, move toward employment and income generation, and freely participate in personal and public decision‑making, they need opportunities that are relevant, sufficient, and effectively accessed.

01

Education Opportunities

Adequate conditions —especially in upper secondary education (10th and 11th grades)— that enable young people to develop essential skills (such as mathematics, literacy, critical thinking, teamwork, among others) before finishing school and beginning their life trajectories.

02

Employment Opportunities

Agile and flexible training alternatives that enable young people to develop relevant job skills and connect with formal employment, supported by job‑placement intermediaries and companies that actively seek to hire them.

03

Freedom of choice Opportunities

Conditions that enable young people to decide—autonomously and in an informed manner—how to participate in the country’s political life. This includes voting, running for public office, and electing representatives in youth and government spaces.

04

Influence Opportunities

The ability of young people to influence decisions related to public matters—such as laws, policies, budgets, and collaborative actions—through mechanisms like dialogue with public authorities, participation in institutional and multi‑stakeholder governance spaces, and citizen oversight.

We work to transform and strengthen the system that creates education, employment, freedom of choice and influence opportunities for youth in Colombia.

What do we mean by

youth opportunity system?

We understand this system as a network made up of institutions, policies, social, economic, and community actors, relationships and processes, as well as the social and cultural norms that interact to enable or restrict education, employment, freedom of choice and influence opportunities for young people. This system operates at multiple levels: local, regional, and national.

Our vision is of a country where youth play a fundamental role in shaping their own life paths and in the collective development of the nation.

Testimonials

In the voices of our partners

Youth leader - "had the privilege of participating as a panelist in the launch of Fundación Corona’s 2030 Strategy, a deeply inspiring space where we talked about how to build a Colombia that believes in, invests in, and trusts its youth.

We spoke about the importance of strengthening educational and employment environments so that young people can envision their lives with dignity, purpose, and real opportunities. Because when a society invests in its youth, it invests in its own future."

Youth leader

“At Origen, we have spent 16 years promoting collective leadership as a driver of transformation, and we are convinced that today’s world—and today’s Colombia—requires more coordinated work among many sectors, people, and perspectives. It means deeply connecting youth with all other sectors, because the challenges we face as a society are enormous and demand diverse viewpoints, greater diversity, and the building of trust so that we can truly move forward major transformations.”
